Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a disease that is often encountered by the public and is considered the most opposed health problem by experts in the world. The most common complication is diabetic foot ulcers in people with diabetes mellitus. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the elderly and people with cormorbid disease will be at higher risk of developing the virus. Objectives: To identify of knowledge level about diabetic foot ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers prevention in diabetes mellitus patients in the Covid-19 pandemic era at Puskesmas Kebumen 1. Methods: The methods is quantitative research using correlation design and by using cross sectional approach. The sampling techniques were carried of using purposive sampling with a total of 100 respondents. The research instruments used a knowledge level questionnaire of diabetic foot ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers prevention. Result: The frequency distribution of the most diabetic foot ulcer of knowledge levels was sufficient as many by 43 respondents (43%), and for the most diabetic foot ulcer prevention frequency was sufficient as many by 92 respondents (92%). The results of the analysis chi square obtained probability value (p value = 0.040 < 0.05) there is a significant the relationship between of knowledge level about diabetic foot ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers prevention. Conclusion: There is a relationship between of knowledge level about diabetic foot ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers prevention in diabetes mellitus patients at Puskesmas Kebumen 1. Recommendations: It is hoped that this study can develop broader variables such as finding other factors that influence the knowledge of diabetic foot ulcers and their prevention, adding variables, population numbers, and samples.
