Abstract
Background, The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that the prevalence of exclusively breastfed is only 36% in the world. This percentage is still below the exclusive breastfeeding coverage target set by WHO of 50%. One of the factors that affect the production of breast milk is nutritional status. Objective, To determine relationship between nutrition status with breast milk production in post sectio caesarea women at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong hospital Research Method, This research uses analytic survey design with cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were all post sectio caesarea at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong hospital, in April-May 2021, as many as 124 post sectio caesarea women were taken by purposive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The nutritional status research instrument used the Body Mass Index formula and breast milk production using a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability p = 0.780 (> 0.444). Data analysis using the Spearman rank formula. Results, From 124 post sectio caesarea mothers, the results showed that most of them were not at risk (87.9%), the last education was SMA/SMK (58.1%), multipara parity (63.7%), average nutritional status with obesity I (25.98), and the average milk production was good (7.3). There is a relationship between nutritional status and breast milk production in post sectio caesarea mothers with the acquisition of the significance value of Spearman's rho p = 0.035 (<0.05). Conclusion, There is a relationship between status and milk production in post sectio caesarea mothers at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Recommendation, For further researchers, they can examine the relationship between nutritional status and breast milk production in post sectio caesarean mother’s using food recall.
