Abstract

Background, cardiac arrest is a state of sudden cessation of blood circulation due to failure of the heart to contract effectively. Cardiac arrest is an emergency. This can happen anywhere, assistance can be provided at the Puskesmas. The level of knowledge and experience of nurses greatly affects how they carry out nursing care and apply basic life support to patients. Nurses must provide fast, precise and careful service so that patients get healing without disability. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and experience of nurses about basic life support at the Kebumen Community Health Center 1 and 2. Research Methods, quantitative with descriptive correlation method using a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples obtained from the total population of 23 respondents. The hypothesis test in this research is univariate and bivariate analysis. The instrument used is a questionnaire consisting of 30 questions using an ordinal scale. The results of the study, there is a significant relationship between knowledge and experience of nurses in carrying out Basic Life Support actions at Kebumen Health Centers 1 and 2. This is evidenced by p value = 0.000 < 0.05 with a correlation value of 0.861. The conclusion is that the better the experience of nurses regarding basic life support, the better the level of knowledge of nurses at Kebumen Health Centers 1 and 2 regarding basic life support. Recommendations provide basic life support training to nurses so that all nurses have a good level of knowledge about basic life support and are skilled in implementing the primary survey.
