Abstract
Background, Skin cancer is where the skin loses its ability to regenerate and grow normally. The use of creams can cause skin cancer because they contain chemicals that are carcinogenic. Students must have sufficient knowledge and behavior towards the use of whitening creams that can cause skin cancer The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about the content of whitening creams that cause skin cancer with the behavior of preventing the use of harmful whitening creams in students at the Muhammadiyah Gombong School of Health Sciences Research Methods, Quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples obtained as many as 30 respondents. The hypothesis test in this research is Univariate and Bivariate. The instrument used is a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions using an ordinal scale. The results of the study, there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge about the content of whitening creams that cause skin cancer with the behavior of preventing the use of harmful whitening creams in students at the Muhammadiyah Gombong High School of Health Sciences. This is evidenced by p value = 14.605 with a significance value of 0.06 which means a significance > 0.05. In conclusion, the better knowledge about the content of whitening creams that cause skin cancer, the better the behavior of preventing the use of harmful whitening creams.
