Abstract

Background: Background: Based on the World Health Organization (2016), in the United States and England, 25% of adolescents aged 15-19 years old had experienced sexual intercourse. Indonesia data clarified that Indonesian teenagers who have ever had sexual intercourse before marrying (42.3%) were conducted on Senior High School levels. Objective: To identify the adolescent perceptions about early marriage Method: This research was a descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. Two hundred fifty-five adolescents were recruited as research samples with purposive sampling. This research was conducted in March – April 2021 at some Senior High School in Kebumen Sub- District (SMA N 2 Kebumen, SMK N 1 Kebumen and MAN 1 Kebumen). The research questionnaire using Google form was distributed to respondents. The statistical data used univariate analysis. Result: Four respondents were in a fairly good category with a percentage of 1.6%, and two hundred forty-seven respondents were in an enough category with a percentage of 98.4%. Conclusion: Adolescent perceptions about early marriage in Kebumen Sub-District were in enough category. Recommendation: Further research can add variables and another research type, such as qualitative research.
