Abstract
Background: The prevalence of hypertension rises every year. Hypertension is a comorbid disease, and it causes a high COVID-19 mortality rate in Indonesia. Management of complications in hypertensive patients can be conducted by well hypertension management. One of the factors which have an influence on hypertension management in patients‟ homes is family support. Purpose: To identify the relationship of family history of hypertension between hypertension management in the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: This study was descriptive correlational research with a cross-sectional approach. This study conducted in Banyurata village, Adimulyo Sub-District of Kebumen District. Ninety-five were recruited as respondents. Family support and hypertension management questionnaires were used to collect data of respondents. Data analysis was conducted with the Spearman rank test. Result: Fifty-two respondents (54.7%) had well family support, and forty-nine respondents (51.6%) had an adequate hypertension management. Correlation test showed there was a significant association between both variables (p = 0,000, sig < 0,05). Conclusion: There was a significant associated between family history of hypertension and hypertension management in the COVID-9 pandemic at Banyurata village, Adimulyo Sub-District of Kebumen District. Recommendation: Further research hopes to do a qualitative study on the family of hypertension patients in the COVID-9 pandemic.
