Abstract
Background: COVID-19 pandemic impact on educational institutions is a change learning method. Distance education is the education of students who may not always be physically present at a school, and it is the best choice for COVID-19 infection. Purpose: To identify the impact of distance education on bachelor of nursing students' motivation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: This study was descriptive correlational research with a cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted at STIKes Muhammadiyah Gombong, with two hundred thirty-three bachelor nursing students recruited by simple random sampling technique. Data collection used a structured instrument that can be accessed by google form. Result: Data analysis used spearman's rank correlation, which showed a p-value of 0.003 (< 0,05). It means that there was a significant correlation between distance education and students' motivation. A positive correlation (r= 0.205) indicated a weak association among both variables. Conclusion: Distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic in STIKes Muhammadiyah Gombong was in enough level category on students' perception (72.3%). Whereas students' motivation also was in the enough level category (66.2%). There was a significant association between distance education and students' motivation. Recommendation: Good signal is needed to access distance education to run well and maintain students' motivation.
