Abstract

Background : Fever commonly occurs due to the mechanism inability of losing heat when attempting to balance out excessive heat overproduction. Failure to cope with fever can lead to dehydration, lack of oxygen, fever with temperature above 42oC, febrile convulsions, and even death. One of fever treatmens is by implementing Tepid Water Sponge. General Purpose: Able to explain nursing care by giving a Tepid Water Sponge to patients with hyperthermia nursing problems in typhoid cases. Methods: This study is an analytical drescriptive using quantitative design with case study approach, the respondent is 5 children typhoid fever patients aged 2-12 years old child with 37.5 oC being treated in the Madukara 1 Public Health Center . Results of nursing care: Evaluation of the nursing actions that the author did showed a decrease in the body temperature of typoid patients who experienced hyperthermia after the Tepid Water Sponge action. Recommendation: Nursing innovations carried out by researcher for 3 consecutive days with the five subjects was experiencing a decrease in body temperature after nursing actions were carried out by giving a 23oC Tepid Water Sponge.
