Abstract
Background: Ineffective breastfeeding is when the mother feels dissatisfied or has difficulty breastfeeding, the failure to breastfeed can be caused by several problems for the mother and her baby. Complaints of ineffective breastfeeding can be reduced by providing non-pharmacological therapy with oxytocin massage using lavender aromatherapy oil which can provide comfort and relaxation so as to increase milk production. General objective: The author can understand the concept and apply it directly in providing nursing care to postpartum mothers by giving oxytocin massage therapy using lavender aromatherapy oil to increase postpartum mother's milk production in the PONED room at Madukara Health Center 1. Methods: This study uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The number of samples in this study were 5 people. The instruments used include maternity nursing care formats, oxytocin massage SOPs, patient observation sheets given oxytocin massage therapy, and nursing kits. Nursing Care Results: From the results of the study, it was found that the patient's age was between 18 -30 years, the majority of education was high school, primiparous parity was 5 people and the complaints that appeared in the five patients were ineffective breastfeeding. The intervention given to the five patients was breastfeeding education. The implementation carried out on the five patients was to identify the readiness and desire to breastfeed, provide health education about breastfeeding, involve the family support system, teach the correct attachment position, teach postpartum breast care, one of which is oxytocin massage. The evaluation results of the five patients showed an increase in production. breast milk. Recommendation: giving oxytocin massage therapy using lavender aromatherapy oil has an effect on increasing breast milk production in postpartum mothers at Madukara 1 Health Center.
