Abstract

Background: Congestive Heart Failure is the inability of the heart to pump adequate blood to meet the tissue needs for oxygen and nutrients General Objecktive: To Analyzing nursing care in congestive heart failure (CHF) patients in providing deep breathing exercise with nursing problems with gas exchange disorders. Method: This research uses a case study method with a descriptive research design. The number of samples is 5 patients. The instrument used is the SOP for deep breathing exercises. The nursing innovation applied is for 5 minutes in 5 cycles (1 cycle of 1 minute consisting of 5 deep breaths with a pause of 2 seconds for every 1 cycle) which is carried out 3 times a day for 3 days. Nursing Care Outcomes: Patients with nursing problems with gas exchange disorders are given a semi-Fowler position and deep breathing exercises are given for 5 minutes in 5 cycles (1 cycle of 1 minute consisting of 5 deep breaths with a pause of 2 seconds every 1 cycle) which is done 3 times a day for 3 days. The result is a decrease in respiratory rate and improved oxygen saturation. Recommendation: Health workers can apply to patients, and as a recommendation semifowler position and deep breathing exercises to reduce shortness of breath in the hospital.
