Abstract

Background: Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of more than 90 mmHg in two measurements with an interval of five minutes in a state of sufficient rest (Brunner & Suddarth, 2013). Acute pain is a sensory or emotional experience. associated with tissue damage in actual and functional, with a sudden onset, slow and intensity, mild to berta lasting less than 3 months (PPNI, 2016). Objective: to assess the effectiveness of the application of therapy slow stroke Back Message to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Methods : The research method is descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects to be studied are 5 hypertensive patients with acute pain nursing problems. The tools in this study are the nursing care format,therapy Slow Stroke Back Message (SSBM), Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) ). The results of Nursing: The assessment results of the five patients had tied The main han is the same as acute pain. The priority nursing diagnosis in Patient IV is acute pain associated with physiological injury agents. Nursing interventions that are carried out to treat acute pain are non-pharmacological therapy. The nursing implementation carried out is TTV assessment, identification of location, characteristics, duration, frequency, quality, intensity of pain, identification of pain scale, identification of non-verbal pain responses, identification of factors that aggravate and relieve pain, administration of Slow Stroke Back Message therapy. The results of the nursing evaluation on the five patients showed that there was an effect of givingtherapy SSBMon reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for the management of acute pain in patients with hypertension.
