Abstract

Background: Benign Prostate Hyperplasia is a periurethral gland that pushes the prostate tissue to the periphery. In Indonesia, BPH is second only to urinary stone disease, and in general, it is estimated that in Indonesia as many as 2.5 million people suffer from BPH. Several ways are used to overcome it, namely by surgery, (Seto, 2011). Surgery for the prostate gland aims to remove obstruction to the flow of urine. Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP). In patients with post-operative procedures, they will feel severe pain (Pinandita, 2012). Non-pharmacological pain management includes using music therapy, Benson therapy. Giving Benson relaxation and music therapy is an action that is done consciously by breathing deeply and slowly. While music therapy is a way of relaxation that is used to cure a disease using certain sounds or rhythms. The benefits of music therapy in the postoperative period, namely increasing patient comfort because relaxation can reduce muscle spasm, reduce anxiety and increase parasympathetic activity (Black, 2014). To find out the effectiveness of giving Benson relaxation and music therapy to reduce acute pain in post-TURP surgery patients as one of the interventions for nursing problems. Purpose : To analyze nursing care for clients with BPH in the Bougenville Room, Tjitrowardjojo Hospital, Purworejo. Research methods: This case study research uses a descriptive research design that is carried out on a set of objects that aims to see a picture of the phenomena that occur in a certain population (Notoatmodjo, 2010). This case study research examines nursing care for patients with BPH in the Bougenville Room, Tjitrowardjojo Hospital, Purworejo. Results: The results of the innovation that the administration of Benson therapy and music therapy to BPH Post Turp patients in the Bougenville Room, RSUD Tjitrowardjojo Purworejo, significant results were obtained that benson therapy and music therapy could reduce pain intensity in patients with BPH Post Turp. Conclusion: From the results of case studies conducted for music therapy and Benson therapy, it has a significant effect on pain levels.
