Abstract
Background: Chronic renal failure is a kidney imbalance to maintain balance and body integrity occurring gradually prior to the end-stage of renal function. In 2015 there were 36 million people worldwide die from kidney disease. It can also affect the pateint’s lifestyle such as eating, drinking and activity. Management of the diet and fluid intake for the patients with renal failure is very important. Objective: to describe the lifestyle of the patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy at Dr. Soedirman Hospital of Kebumen. Method: This research used a descriptive method with cross sectional approach. The samples were 49 patients taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis that explain or describe the characteristics of each variable. Results: The majority 28 (57,1%) of respondents were having good diet, and there were some respondents who have mediocre category 21 (42,9%). The majority of respondents 41 (83,7%) have had good drinking patterns category, and only 8 (16,3%) who have had mediocre one. The majority of respondents 35 (71,4%) were having good activity patterns and only 14 (28,6%) who had mediocre category. Conclusion: As long as undergoing hemodialysis most respondents have been able to apply good diet; meanwhile there were some respondents who have not.
