Abstract

Background: Based on WHO data in 2016 in the world there are 30 million BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia) sufferers. One of the surgical procedures for BPH patients is Transuretral Resection Prostatectomy (TURP). Surgical procedures often have side effects that cannot be avoided by every patient undergoing surgery, including pain. Non-pharmacological pain management includes using a combination of finger grip and deep breathing Objective: To analyze nursing care in post-operative BPH TURP patients with a combination of finger gripping and deep breathing interventions to reduce pain intensity in the premium multazam room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: The research method is descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects that will be studied are 5 postoperative BPH TURP patients with the main problem of acute pain. The tools in this study were the nursing care format, the Nursing Kit, the SOP for the combination of finger gripping and deep breathing. The pain measurement tool that will be used uses the NRS. Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which is presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume Results: Assessment of Clients I-V and Clients with pain problems in postoperative Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) TURP patients. The diagnosis that arises in the client is acute pain related to physical injury agents (post-op bladder irritation BPH TURP). The plan prepared by the author is a comprehensive pain assessment, anesthetic treatment, and a combination of finger gripping and deep breathing. Actions taken in dealing with acute pain associated with physical injury agents (post-op bladder irritation BPH TURP), the authors carried out the application of a combination of finger gripping and deep breathing. The results of the evaluation showed that acute pain related to physical injury agents (post-op bladder irritation BPH TURP) was resolved with an indication of a decrease in pain symptoms after a comprehensive pain assessment, anesthetic treatment, and a combination of finger grip and deep breathing were carried out. The combination of finger gripping and deep breathing is effective in reducing acute pain associated with physical injury agents (post-op bladder irritation BPH). Patient I experienced a decrease in pain from a scale of 5 on the first day and a scale of 4 on day 2. Patient II experienced a decrease in pain from a scale of 5 on the first day and a scale of 3 on day 2. Patient III experienced a decrease in pain from a scale of 5 on the first day and scale 3 on day 2. Patient IV experienced a decrease in pain from a scale of 5 on the first day and a scale of 4 on day 2. Patient V experienced a decrease in pain from a scale of 5 on the first day and a scale of 3 on the second day. Recommendation: People should do a combination of finger gripping and deep breathing as an alternative therapy for pain. The combination of finger gripping and deep breathing is easy to do independently.
