Abstract
Background: ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) is an arterial flow that stops suddenly or is blocked due to a lack of oxygen supply caused by a thrombus or plaque that accumulates in the arteries. It caused chest pain to arise. One of the nursing interventions is providing autogenic therapy to reduce pain scale in STEMI patients. Objective: To identify nursing care for acute pain of STEMI patients in the ICCU room of RSUD dr. Margono Soekarjo of Puwokerto Methods: This study was a descriptive case study with a cross-sectional approach. Data collection used structured instruments such as nursing care sheets, autogenic relaxation therapy procedural sheets, and pain assessment observation sheets. The respondents in this study were five patients who experienced STEMI with pain problems. Result: The nursing problem of all respondents was acute pain. After getting nursing care during two days at the ICCU ward of RSUD dr. Margono Soekarjo Puwokerto showed that autogenic relaxation therapy was effective in reducing pain scale in STEMI patients. Recommendation: Autogenic relaxation technique can be used as non-pharmacological therapy to manage acute pain in STEMI patients
