Abstract
Background: The main problem of population in Indonesia is the high growth of population. The government then does an effort to decrease that growth of the increasing population by making a family planning program (birth control program). Lack of knowledge about contraception is the reason why a mother does not realize the importance of the use of contraception. This can be overcome by providing counseling to her on the kinds of contraception. The counseling was conducted by using the right medium and it must be interesting to support the effectiveness of the counseling. Objective: To be able to apply counseling on selecting contraceptive using Power Point media in private midwifery clinic of Midwife Ismoyowati at Wiromartan, Mirit, Kebumen. Method: This scientific paper is descriptive kualitatife. The data was obtained from primary data and secondary data. The data was analyzed through three stages – data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Results: After having counseling, the mothers then know the kinds of contraception and decide to choose the contraceptive they wish. Of 3 mothers, Mrs. Sa chose to use three-monthly injection, Mrs. M chose to use implant and Mrs. Su chose to use pills. Conclusion: There is an influence of the use of power point media in counseling on selecting contraceptives. That is quite effective and successful. The three respondents finally decided to choose contraceptives as they wish (3 monthlyinjection, implant and pills).
