Abstract
Background: Sectio Caesarea (SC) surgery is a surgical procedure to remove the fetus through incisions in the abdominal and uterine walls. Post surgery SC patients often feel discomfort due to pain that comes from incisions in the abdominal part. Nursing intervention is required to reduce pain. Foot massage is an optional treatment to reduce pain. Objective: Analyzing nursing care of post operative sectio caesarea patients with acute pain. Method: This research used a case study method of 5 patients. Instruments were a nursing care format, pain assessment using Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and standard operating procedure (SOP) of foot massage. Results: The main nursing problem of five patients was acute pain, while other nursing diagnoses were ineffective breastfeeding related to inadequacies of the milk supply, and the risk of infection is evidenced by the effects of invasive procedures. Based on the implementation carried out to the five patients, namely pain management, including pain assessment using the PQRST method, providing nonpharmacological methods to reduce pain in the form of foot massage, and motivating the patient's family to be able to perform foot massage therapy to reduce pain in patients showed significant decrease of pain. Recommendation: Further researchers are expected to perform foot massage therapy by equalizing the pain threshold of patients so that the assessment of pain can be maximized
