Abstract
Background: Sectio caesarea is surgical treatment of removing the fetus and placenta from the uterus through an incision of abdominal wall and uterine wall in intact state. One of the problems in taking care of post sectio caesarea patients is acute pain. An innovative intervention that can be done is giving lemon aromatherapy to reduce the pain intensity. Objective: To analyze nursing care of post sectio caesarea patients with acute pain being given lemon aromatherapy to reduce pain intensity. Methods: This final scientific paper used a case study approach with a descriptive method. The instruments were observation sheets, NRS pain scale measurement sheets, and SOP for Aromatherapy. Subjects consisted of 5 postoperative SC patients with acute pain. The data collection process was carried out 2 times a day, for 3 days with a duration of 5-10 minutes. Results: The results of the innovative application of lemon aromatherapy on the five post SC patients showed decrease of the pain scale from the severe pain scale to the mild pain scale. Recommendation: The results of this study can be applied as an independent exercise at home for postoperative sectio caesarea patients who experience pain. This therapy can be done 2 times a day with duration of 5-10 minutes.
