Abstract

Background: According to WHO data (2019) confirmed that heart disease is the number 1 cause of death in the world with the number of cases of 17.9 million each year. One of the heart diseases that are often encountered is STEMI with the main complaint in the form of chest pain. Chest pain in STEMI can be above using pharmacological and nonpharmacological therapies. Non-pharmacological therapy that can be done to reduce chest pain is one of them by using a hand-held relaxation method of the fingers that aims to reduce the intensity of the scale of chest pain light to moderate scale. Objective: To present an analysis of nursing care to ST- Myocardial Infarct Elevation Segment (STEMI) patients with major nursing problems of acute pain. Method: This study uses case study methods. The subjects of this study were patients with STEMI according to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. Result: The primary nursing diagnosis of acute pain is associated with physiological nursing agents. Intervention (SLKI): Complaints of reduced pain, decreased restlessness, decreased sleeplessness, and improved sleep patterns. (SIKI): Pain management by identifying location, characteristics, duration, frequency, quality, pain intensity, identifying pain scales, teaching nonpharmacological techniques to reduce pain (fingertip handheld relaxation), facilitating rest and sleep, monitoring vital signs, collaborating analgesic administration if necessary. The implementation carried out on the five patients is the relaxation of finger hands, by following the procedure in accordance with the applicable SOP, with a duration of giving time of 15 minutes every 1x a day in a period of 3 consecutive days. For evaluation based on the five patients who performed hand-held relaxation of the fingers, there was a significant reduction in pain. With the average intensity of pain before action 5 and after action 2. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving hand-held finger relaxation therapy to the reduction of pain skla in STEMI patients.
