Abstract

Background: Babies weighing less than 2500 grams will experience the loss of body temperature and become hypothermia and heat loss and become hypothermia without seeing a gestation period. The body temperature-regulated center is not functioning correctly, so happed low metabolism. Objective: To give nursing care and practice the infant massage for low birth weight babies who experiencing hypothermia at the perinatal room in RSUD dr. Tjitrowardojo of Purworejo. Method: This study was a descriptive case study design with the cross-sectional approach. The case study subjects were five babies with low birth weight babies who were experiencing hypothermia problems. Data collection used observation techniques, interviews, and documentation studies. Result: The primary nursing diagnosis of respondents was hypothermia. According to nursing intervention guidelines, the nurse gave nursing implementations and evaluated respondents' body temperature for 3x2 hours. Recommendation: Nurses can apply the infant massage as a complementary alternative to the baby with low birth weight patients and experience hypothermia
