Abstract

Background: Bronchopneumonia is an acute infection of the lower respiratory tract in the lungs, which anatomically affects the lung lobules from the lung parenchyma to the bronchial border that can be caused by various etiologies such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and foreign bodies. Therapy done one of which is chest physiotherapy. Chest physiotherapy is a nurse's independent action that can be done easily and inexpensively which can be done in hospitals or puskesmas. This action has no side effects, effective cough and chest physiotherapy either done in the morning after waking up, or done before lunch if the sputum is still very much, so it can come out optimally with several techniques namely deep breathing, postural drainage, cllaping, vibration and coughing effective. Authors' Purpose: This case study illustrates nursing care by applying chest physiotepic therapy to help discharge secretions in children in the hospital. Writing Method: this paper uses a descriptive analytical method of case studies, the subjects are 2 children under five years old (0-5 years) who are given chest physiotherapy therapy using postural drainage and cllaping techniques, which are carried out for 3 days, the instruments used are using the standard SOP Stikes Muhammadiyah Gombong. Results: Chest physiotherapy therapy was proven to be an effective therapy to help remove secretions in children with a respiratory rate decrease of 1.5. Recommendations: Health workers or educators should use chest physiotherapy as one of the treatment options to help remove secretions in children under five.
