Abstract
Background , Gunitri plant ( Elaeocarpus ganitrus Robx ) has properties that can be used to overcome health problems , one of which is as an anti - inflammatory . The purpose of this research is to make a gel preparation of Ganitri ( Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb ) leaf aquadest extract gel with a stability test that meets the requirements and to make a gel formulation of Ganitri leaf ( Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb ) aquadest extract which has an anti - inflammatory effect on induced Wistar white rats that induced carrageenan . Research method , this research was carried out by extracting ganitri leaves using distilled water , then extract concentrations of 50 , 100 and 200 mg / kg were made into formulations . The anti - inflammatory activity was tested using the 1 % carrageenin method . Results showed that the aquadest extract of ganitri ( Elaeocarpus ganitrus robx ) leaves 50 , 100 and 200 mg / kg could be made into a gel that met the physical evaluation requirements except for the viscosity and gel formulation of ganitri ( Elaeocarpus ganitrus robx ) aquadest extract with doses of 50 , 100 and 200 . mg / kg has an anti - inflammatory effect with DAI percent of 39.46 , 45.93 and 51.14 % . The data obtained using statistical tests showed that the data obtained were normal with P value > 0.05 and homogeneous data with P value 0.283 > 0.05 with positive control having a significant difference with formula 1 and negative control . Conclusion , all ganitri leaf extract gel formulas have an anti - inflammatory effect . Recommendations , It is necessary to do further research using different extraction methods and different anti - inflammatory test methods
