Abstract
Background: Neonates are newborns aged 0-28 days which is the age group that has the highest risk of health problems due to immature immune system. Neonatal deaths due to infectious diseases, such as: sepsis, pneumonia, tetanus and diarrhea. Signs and symptoms of neonatal infection is usually a lazy baby drink, reflex to suck and swallow weak, vomiting baby will be decreased nutritional intake. Purpose: The purpose of this writing, the students were able to perform nursing care to patients fulfilling the nutritional needs by.ny.L with a medical diagnosis of neonatal infection. Nursing Care: When studied patients often vomiting after being given diet, reflex to suck and swallow weak, attached OGT, experience weight loss when assessed 2700gram patient weight. Diagnosis emerging nutrition less than body requirements. Intervention and implementation has been done is to measure the weight, check the patency of OGT, giving diit PASI / ASI, provide therapy D5 1/4 NS, train the patient's reflexes suck and swallow. Evaluations conducted over three days, there was an increase in weight, the patient's reflexes suck and swallow well, the diagnosis has not been resolved. From various studies that have been done, enteral feeding in infants effective to increase the weight so that it can overcome the problem of nursing nutrition less than body requirements.
