Abstract
Background: According to WHO, heart disease is the number 1 cause of death in the world with a total of 17.9 million each year. One of the most common types of heart disease is STEMI with complaints of chest pain. Chest pain can be treated with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be done is the provision of aromatherapy using lavender essential oil to reduce pain intensity in STEMI patients with moderate chest pain. Objectives: Explaining the analysis of care in patients with st-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) with acute pain nursing problems. Methods: This research used a descriptive case study method. The subjects of this study were STEMI patients according to the criteria. Result: Nursing diagnoses are acute pain related to physiological injury agents. Intervention: SLKI Complaints of reduced pain, reduced anxiety, reduced grimacing. SIKI Pain management by observing the location, characteristics, duration, frequency, quality, intensity of pain, giving drug therapy, giving lavender aromatherapy, monitoring vital signs, monitoring the success of aromatherapy. The implementation carried out by the five patients was lavender aromatherapy in STEMI patients, by following the procedure according to the applicable SOP, with a duration of 30 minutes each day for 1x a day for 3 consecutive days. For the evaluation, based on the five patients who received lavender aromatherapy, there was a significant reduction in pain. With the average pain intensity before the action is 6 after 3. Conclusion: There was an effect of giving lavender aromatherapy on reducing pain in STEMI patients.
