Abstract

Background: CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) is a condition in which the heart fails to pump blood to adequately meet the body's needs for nutrients and oxygen. Based on the health profile of Central Java Province (2020), the highest cases of non-communicable diseases are the heart and blood vessel disease group. Congestive heart failure patients often have difficulty maintaining oxygenation so they tend to be short of breath. One of the management to reduce shortness of breath in CHF patients is by doing slow deep breathing techniques. Objective: To analysis of nursing care the application of slow deep breathing in congestive heart failure patients with ineffectiveness of breathing patterns in ICCU. Methods: This case study involved 5 respondents with kritria patients with chf diagnosis (Congestive Heart Failure). The intervention provided refers to SIKI with the addition of the application of slow deep breathing. Results: Nursing diagnosis of breathing patterns is ineffective. Intervention: SLKI Breathing pattern (L.01004), frequency of breath in the normal range, no muscle use of respiratory aids, patients show no signs of dipsnea. SIKI: Airway Management (I.01012), breath pattern monitor, sound monitor, position semi-Fowler or Fowler, provide oxygen, if necessary, teach non-pharmacological techniques to reduce tightness. Implementation: monitoring KU and patient awareness, monitoring the depth of the patient's breathing, providing oxygen to maintain oxygen saturation >94%, monitoring TTV, teaching nonpharmacological techniques slow deep breathing, positioning semi fowler. Evaluation: Of the five respondents, the results of the application showed that the five respondents had no additional votes (vesicular), decreased RR and increased SPO2. Recommendation: Based on the research conducted, the results of each slow deep breathing action of patients experienced a decrease in RR and an increase in SpO2.
