Abstract

Background, Congestive heart failure is the failure of the heart to pump blood throughout the body. Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) will be more at risk in the elderly (elderly) due to decreased atrial and ventricular function due to aging. To reduce and control shortness of breath can be done with non-pharmacological measures that can be used in CHF patients, namely the provision of Fowler's position and deep breathing exercise. Objective, Describes the nursing care given to patients with decreased cardiac output in Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) patients at the PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital Emergency Installation. Methods, This research uses a case study method with a descriptive research design. The number of samples is 5 patients. The instruments used are SOP Fowler's position and deep breathing exercises. Nursing innovations that are applied are Fowler's position and deep breathing exercises given 1 time in 2 hours for 10-15 minutes and carried out for 6 hours of treatment. Result, Patients with nursing problems with decreased cardiac output are given, namely Fowler's position and deep breathing exercises given 1 time in 2 hours for 10-15 minutes and carried out for 6 hours of treatment. The result is a decrease in breathing frequency and oxygen saturation. Recommendation, Health workers can apply to patients, and as a recommendation Fowler's position and deep breathing exercises to reduce shortness of breath in the hospital.
