Abstract
Background: A fracture is a broken bone, the same as a crack or a break. A bone may be completely fractured or partially fractured. Acute pain is felt immediately after a fracture, while sub-acute pain occurs over the weeks following a fracture. Distracting relaxation techniques is one way of many techniques to control the pain. Objective: Giving nursing care to patients with post-fracture recovery and experiencing acute pain Method: This study was a descriptive case study with a cross-sectional approach. Five patients of closed fracture in the emergency room in dr. Tjitrowardojo hospital of Purworejo was recruited as the respondent in this study. All respondents got pharmacology and non-pharmacology therapy. The nurse gave nursing complementary such as distracting relaxation techniques combined with Asmaul Husna to divert the attention of pain sensation. These were given to respondents for three days, and each intervention was given three times a day. Result: All respondents experienced acute pain related to physical injury. The nurse conducted a nursing assessment to check respondents’ vital signs, pain assessment, and pain management therapy. The respondents said that pain levels were reduced after giving intervention. Recommendation: Pain management both pharmacology therapy are effective if combined to reduce pain levels
