Abstract

Background, hypertension is the problem the world, it was because the prevalence of continuous experienced an increase in. Almost 8 millions people died year around the world because of diseases of hypertension, while in the case of the south-east asia region his own almost. A disease hypertension in Indonesia is one of the originator of important the occurrence of mortalitas and morbidity. Data from Kebumen Regency has 23.735 cases of hypertension and are the top three noncommunicable disease. Hypertension at Purbowangi Hospital is the second most common disease after Diabetes Melitus. Research method, uses the method crossectional with a descriptive research design using the MMAS-8 questionnaire. Result,the level of adherence to drug use in hypertension patients at Purbowangi Hospital in the high category as many as 30 respondents (46,2%), the mediun category as many as 29 respondents (44,6%), the low category as many as 6 respondents (9,2%) and there is a significant relationship between education, occupation, and comorbidities of respondents with the level of compliance (pvalue< 0,05). Conclusion,adherence to drug use in hypertension patients at Purbowangi hospital are in the high category as many as 30 respondents (46,2%) and there is a significant relationship between education, occupation, and comorbidities of respondents with the level compliance. Recommendation, it is necessary to add more respondents and control for confounding variables
