Abstract
Background: Colorectal cancer treatment has a psychological impact, one of which is Hopelessness. Hopelessness makes the individual lose control of the events of his life and feel that everything is meaningless. Nursing actions to deal with these problems consist of two implementation strategies. First practice positive thinking and second evaluation of feelings of helplessness, and positive affirmations. Objective: The purpose of writing this final scientific paper for nurses is to analyze the nursing care for hopelessness in clients with colorectal cancer in the wijayakusuma room of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital. Methods: This final scientific paper used a descriptive method in the form of a case study. The approach to providing nursing care includes assessment, determination of nursing diagnoses, nursing planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing. . Results: The results of the analysis on 3 times the intervention showed that the client II, IV, V after the third day of evaluation, the problem of hopelessness has been resolved. While clients I, III evaluation results show the problem has not been resolved. Conclusion: The results of the innovation of positive thinking techniques and positive affirmation techniques in reducing helplessness in clients with colorectal cancer have proven to be effective. Recommendations: Nurses are expected to pay attention to the importance of innovating in providing nursing care interventions to clients with chronic diseases.
