Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition in which there is a persistent increases in blood pressure in the vasculature. Where the blood pressure exceeds the normal limit. Management of hypertension is divided into two, namely pharmacological and nonpharmacological management can use warm compress therapy to reduce pain intensity. Ojective: To describe the result of the analysis of nursing care in hypertensive patients with acute pain in the emergency department of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The case study instrument uses a nursing care format, warm compress SOP, and pain assessment observation sheet. Data obtained from the result of the assessment of the patient and the study of documentation. Subjects consisted of 5 adult patients with hypertension with acute pain nursing problems. Nursing Care Result: The result of the assessment conducted on hypertensive patients obtained data on the main complaint, namely acute pain in the head. The priority nursing diagnosis in hypertensive patients is acute pain associated with biologic injury agents. Nursing intervention carried out, namely pain management with warm compresses on the nape of the neck. The implementation of nursing carried out for 6 hours, namely, pain management: Assessing pain comprehensively including (location, characteristic, duration, frequency), Monitor TTV, Monitor pain levels, Teach non-pharmacological techniques to reduce pain (warm compresses), Collaborative administration of analgesics. Recommendation: It is hoped that warm compresses can be used as SOP for nonpharmacological management of hypertension pain
