Abstract

Background: Stroke is a disorder of nerve function. A stroke consists of nonhemorrhagic stroke (SNH) and hemorrhagic stroke (SH). In patients with SNH, there is no bleeding but happened ischemia causes hypoxia and secondary edema. Objective: To identify nursing care by providing Range of Motion (ROM) therapy to patients with physical mobility disorders. Methods: This study was a descriptive case study design with a cross-sectional approach. Subjects in the case study were five patients with non-hemorrhagic stroke (SNH). The nursing care focus in this study was to increase muscle strength in SNH patients who experience muscle weakness. Results: There was an increase in muscle strength of the five patients after giving Range of Movement (ROM) exercise therapy. Conclusion: The results of all respondents showed that there was an increase in muscle strength. Recommendation: Nurses hope to improve the quality of nursing care when giving nursing care for patients with impaired physical mobility
