Abstract
Background : Head injury can be defined as injury to the head due to blunt force, penetrating trauma or acceleration-deceleration forces that cause temporary or permanent impairment of brain function. Craniocerebral injury, some experts use the term based on the understanding that the injury or lesion that occurs can affect the skull bone or part of the brain tissue or both at once. It is reported that 30-90% of posttraumatic headaches experience headaches. In mild head injury, headache is a common complaint in mild head injury, which is about 82%. Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience resulting from actual or potential tissue damage. Mild pain scale in patients with mild head injury by nurses can be done with non-pharmacological therapy such as behavioral therapy (relaxation, hypnotherapy, biofeedback). Slow deep breathing may be an alternative to overcome acute post-trauma pain because it physiologically causes a relaxing effect so that it can reduce brain metabolism. Slow deep breathing is a conscious action to regulate breathing deeply and slowly. Objective : To determine the effectiveness of Slow Deep Breathing therapy on reducing the pain scale of moderate Head Injury patients Method: This paper uses a descriptive case study design, the study subjects are 3 clients who experience moderate pain in patients with mild head injury. With acute pain nursing problems, data collection by observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Research result: After performing Slow Deep Breathing nursing actions for approximately 15 minutes on patients with nursing problems that arise in the three clients, namely Acute Pain. The results of observations showed that there was a decrease in acute pain marked by a decrease in the pain scale in the pain suffered by the patient Recommendation: Can be developed at the place, time of therapy, and intensity of therapy. As well as reanalyzing the influence and other variables on pain in patients.
