Abstract

Background: Surgery is a potential or actual threat to the integrity of the patient, both biopsychosocial and spiritual, which can lead to a response in the form of pain. Pain is an unpleasant emotional and sensory experience associated with actual or risk of tissue damage. Pain arises because in the surgical process an incision is made, namely the disruption of tissue continuity, the incident is received by the sensory nerves into pain. One of the efforts to reduce pain is distraction therapy Purpose: This study is to explain the analysis of nursing care in post op orif patients with acute pain through the application of humor therapy in the Bougenvile room of the Majenang Hospital. Method: This study used a case study method using 5 postoperative ORIF clavicle fracture patients with acute pain problems and given humor therapy intervention. Result: The results of this case study showed that there was an average decrease in pain level of 52% after humor therapy was carried out in postoperative ORIF patients in the Bougenvile room of the Majenang Hospital. Recommendation: Humor therapy can be used to treat pain in postoperative ORIF patients.
