Abstract

Background: Sectio Caesarea is one of the medical procedures performed by a surgery to give birth to a child through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus. Physically childbirth with Sectio Caesarea surgery can cause pain in the mother's abdomen. Pain that arises from the surgical incision in the process of cesarean delivery. Handling to deal with pain can be done pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically which aims to overcome the pain by eliminating the symptoms that appear. Purpose: This case study aims to explain nursing care to postoperative sectio caesarea patients with acute pain applying Benson relaxation therapy in the Mawar room of Majenang Hospital. Method: This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach on 5 postoperative sectio caesarea patients who experience acute pain. Pain measurement using a numerical scale pain measurement instrument. The nursing care process was carried out for three days by giving Benson relaxation therapy 1 time with the guidance of the author and then carried out independently. Each therapy is given 15 minutes. Result: The results of the assessment using a numerical scale showed that all patients experienced moderate pain with a varying scale of 5-6. The diagnosis that emerged in the five patients was acute pain. The nursing plan was prepared based on SLKI L.08066 (Pain level) and SIKI Relaxation Therapy (I.09326), namely Benson relaxation therapy. Benson relaxation intervention was given 1 time 15 minutes and then carried out independently. The evaluation was carried out 2 hours after the nursing action was carried out and then an evaluation was carried out every day for 3 days of treatment. Benson relaxation therapy is effective in reducing the anxiety level of postoperative sectio caesarea patients in the Mawar room of the Majenang Hospital with an average decrease of 3.4 points. Recommendation: Benson's relaxation therapy recommendations can be used to treat acute pain in postoperative sectio caesarea patients
