Abstract

Background: Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW) are babies born weighing less than 2,500 grams regardless of gestational age . Percentage of LBW in Central Java is 5,1 %. The problem that occurs in LBW is that there are physiological changes in the body, one of which is in the thermoregulation system where LBW can experience hypothermia due to thin fat reserves under the skin which can cause hypoxemia and neonatal death. LBW nursing method, namely the Swaddling technique to improve thermoregulation in LBW. Purpose: This case study aims to explain nursing care for LBW infants with thermoregulatory disorders : hypothermia trough Swaddling innovation in Soka room BLUD RSUD MAJENANG Methods This research method used a descriptive case approach to 5 LBW patients by measuring changes in temperature by administering the swaddling technique in the nursing care process which is carried out for 3 days with a duration of 2 hours/day. Results The evaluation results showed an increase in body temperature in LBW infants with hypothermia on average 0,760 after swaddling technique innovation.
