Abstract
Background: Asthma is a complex disease that can be caused by biochemical, endocrine, infectious, anatomic, and psychological factors. Asthma symptoms can occur repeatedly and can even increase and worsen during physical activity and at night. The impact of asthma is that it can cause psychological disorders such as panic, anxiety, stress, or even depression, fatigue, impaired growth and puberty, status asthmaticus, pneumonia, bronchopneumonia, damage to part or all of the lungs, and death. Purpose: This case study aims to explain Medical Surgical Nursing Care with Hot Water Steam Inhalation Innovation with Essential Oil of Eucalyptus Globulus Chest on Ineffective Airway Clearing of Asthma Patients at Majenang Hospital. Method: This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach on 5 bronchial asthma patients who experienced ineffective airway clearance. The nursing care process was carried out for three meetings with the provision of Hot Water Steam Inhalation therapy with Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil 3 times. Each therapy is given 15 -20 minutes. Result: Hot water steam inhalation innovation therapy with eucalyptus globulus essential oil is effective in reducing the frequency of breath in asthma patients in the Melati room of Majenang Hospital with an average increase of 24.2%. Recommendation: Hot water steam inhalation innovation with eucalyptus globulus essential oil can be used to treat ineffective airway clearance
