Abstract
Background : ST elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a heart disease that occurs when coronary blood flow is suddenly reduced due to occlusion of a thrombus in an atherosclerotic plaque. Coronary artery thrombosis appears quickly in the area of vascular injury and is triggered by several factors including smoking, high blood pressure, and fat accumulation. The clinical signs of STEMI are characteristic chest pain, ECG changes, and elevated cardiac enzymes. Pain management can be done with pharmacological and non-pharmacological. One of the non-pharmacological pain management is Benson relaxation Objective: To analyze nursing care for STEMI patients with acute pain through the application of Benson's relaxation technique to reduce pain in STEMI patients. Methods: This study uses a descriptive design with a case study approach. The type of research is described in the form of a case study. The number of samples in this study were 5 STEMI patients with experienced pain. Research Results: Based on the case study, the results of the analysis showed that in general there was a decrease in the pain scale from moderate pain (pain scale 6 to mild pain pain scale 2) and to no more pain. Conclusion: Based on the data that has been obtained that there is an effect of Benson relaxation on reducing the pain scale before and after the intervention is given.
