Abstract
Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) is a pain syndrome that occurs in the lower back that occurs as a result of various factors and is one of the contributors to disability and occupational diseases.. One of the actions that can be given to LBP patients is hand and foot massage. Foot massage can be done as a nonpharmacological technique to help reduce pain intensity, pain duration, pain frequency and reduce the level of disability of LBP patients. Purpose: To find out nursing care with the main nursing problem of acute pain through hand and foot massage methods to reduce pain in LBP patients at the Pagentan Health Center, Banjarnegara Regency. Method: this research uses a descriptive case study design, using hand and foot massage interventionand operational procedures for measuring pain with a pain scale measuring instrument sheet with a Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). The number of samples in this study were 5 patients with a diagnosis of LBP. Results: the assessment of the patient found that the main nursing problem was acute pain related to biological injury agents, Interventions were carried out for all patients by performing non-pharmacological therapy in the form of foot and hand massage, Evaluation of the five patients there was a decrease in pain scale after foot and hand massage action, patients look more comfortable and feels less pain. Recommendation: It is recommended for nurses to be able to carry out nursing care comprehensively in overcoming nursing problems in particular Low Back Pain (LBP) Innovative nursing interventions with foot and hand massage can later be used as SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in pain management in patients Low Back Pain(LBP).
