Abstract
Background: The family is part of the smallest unit of society and its role is to form a healthy culture.The process of family development in the elderly also causes many changes, along with increasing age, blood pressure will increase. This is a natural process of the life cycle, with age, the function of organs and tissues will decline. However, high blood pressure is a dangerous thing for the elderly because it can cause heart disease, stroke and even death.One of the handling of non-pharmacological therapy for the elderly is by giving Benson therapy. Benson Therapyable to help the elderly reduce blood pressure and be able to overcome the problems experienced by the elderly with hypertension Destination:To knownursing care for patients with the application of Benson therapy to reduce hypertension in the elderly with the developmental stage of elderly families at Karangkobar Health Center. Method:This research uses a descriptive case study design, research that seeks to describe an indication of an event that is currently happening. The number of samples in this study were 5 elderly patients with hypertension. Research result:Based on the case study, it was found that in general Benson therapy had an effect on reducing hypertension in the elderly. Where the five patients experienced a decrease in blood pressure after Benson therapy which was initially in the high range to normal from observation, the patients were more comfortable, relaxed, and had better interactions. Conclusion:There is effectiveness in the application of Benson therapy to reduce blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension.
