Abstract
Background : Heart disease remains the main cause of death at the global level for the last 20 years , coronary heart disease is often asymptomatic when screened , atients will feel chest pain when excessive activity . ST - elevation myocardial infarction ( STEMI ) is an acute coronary syndrome caused by a ruptured atherosclerotic plaque causing the artery to occlude , and is accompanied by clinical signs of myocardial ischemia such as chest pain . In some measures to reduce the pain scale , one of them is by giving hypnotherapy . Objective : To determine the effectiveness of the application of hypnotherapy in reducing pain scale in STEMI patients . Methods : This study uses a descriptive case study design , research that seeks to describe an indication of an event that is currently happening . The number of samples in this study were 5 stem patients with chest pain experienced . Research results : Based on case studies , it was found that in general hypnotherapy has an effect on reducing pain scale in stem patients . Where the five patients experienced a decrease in pain after hypotherapy which was initially in the range of moderate and severe pain to mild pain , from observations it was seen that the patient was more comfortable , relaxed , able to rest and better interactions . Conclusion : There is effectiveness in the application of hypnotherapy methods to reduce pain in stem patients
