Abstract

Background: Diabetes is the disease with the most complications, various long-term complications can occur if diabetes is not treated immediately. The increase in the number of diabetics is caused by an unhealthy lifestyle such as decreased physical activity that can lead to obesity. One of the recommended exercises for diabetics is diabetic gymnastics. Regular diabetic gymnastics can lose weight, increase the use of glucose in the muscles so that blood glucose levels can decrease. Objective: Provide an overview of nursing care with the application of diabetes gymnastics to lower the blood glucose levels of diabetics in Jatiluhur Village Rowokele Subdistrict Method: This research uses descriptive methods of case studies by describing the results in narrative form. Respondents have been diagnosed with diabetes mellitus by doctors for more than a year, aged more than 18-75 years, have blood glucose levels of more than 160 mg/dl. The research data was obtained through observations, interviews, and blood glucose level monitors before and after therapy. Results: There appears to be a decrease in blood glucose levels as much as 8-97 mg/dl after therapy is given. Recommendation: The application of diabetic gymnastics can be applied as a nonpharmacological method routinely in diabetics to lower blood glucose levels.
