Abstract

Background: Based on Riskesdas data in 2018, the number of people with hypertension in Central Java Province reached 37.57%, and the prevalence of hypertension in women was higher than men, namely 40.17% in women, while 34.01% in men. The lowest percentage is Purworejo at 12.9%, of which 7% have sleep disorders. In this modern era, many therapies are very popular, one of which is music therapy which is also popular in the health sector, especially to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The Ministry of Health has published research on how to reduce the risk of high blood pressure by listening to music to manage stress media (Kemenkes, 2016). Objective: Describe nursing care for hypertensive clients with sleept disorders with the application of music therapy to improved the sleept quality of clients in Katerban Village, Kutoarjo District. Method: This Scientific Paper was in the formed of a case studied with elderly subjects with a history of hypertension who had sleept disorders as many as 3 respondents in Katerban Village which were carried out for 3 days. To found out if there is an increased in quality, it is documented in the observation sheet. Results: After being gave music therapy for 3 days, the blood pressure of hypertensive patients experienced an increased in sleept quality. Client 1 experienced an increased in sleept quality from 17 to 6, client 2 experienced an increased in sleept quality from 19 to 7, client 3 increased sleept quality from 18 to 7. Recomendation: The application of music therapy can improved sleept quality in hypertensive patients with disturbed sleept patterns
