Abstract

Background: The main problem that often occurs in schizophrenic patients is violent behavior. This condition must be treated immediately because the violent behavior that occurs can endanger the patient's self, others and the environment. Interventions in patients with violent behavior can be done by giving techniques to control violent behavior, giving individual therapy implementation strategies and group activity therapy. Objective: To describe the results of nursing care for clients at risk of violent behavior at the Dosaraso Shelter, Kebumen. Method:This paper used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The case studied instrument used a nursing documentation format, observation sheets for recording the risk of violent behavior, SOPs for individual therapy implementation strategies, and SOPs for group activity therapy. Subjects consisted of 3 patients at risk of violent behavior. The implementation of nursing carried out 5 times and each session took about 15-30 minutes long. The data were analyzed by descriptively on nursing care. Results: The results of the case showed that there was a decrease in symptoms of risk of violent behavior and an increase in risk management skills for violent behavior before and after the treatment of individual therapy implementation strategies and group activity therapy. The decreased signs and symptoms of the risk of violent behavior was highest in Patient I who experienced a decrease of 10 (76.9%) after individual therapy implementation strategies and 6 (60.0%) after group activity therapy. Patient I also experienced an increase in the ability to manage the risk of violent behavior the highest, namely 75% after the treatment of individual therapy implementation strategies and 50% after group activity therapy. Recommendation: Gave a combination of treatment strategy implementation of individual therapy and effectively to be implemented in nursing care in patients at risk of violent behavior
