Abstract
Background: Indonesia lactation amenorrhoea method (LAM) achhievement is still low. It is measured from the level of exclusive breastfeeding achievement that is still low. Based on the data of National Social Economic Survey in 2010, there were only 33.6% of infants (aged 0-6 month)having exclusive breastfeeding. Andaccording to the Basic Health Research in 2010 there werer only 15.3% of infants – aged less than 6 months were breastfed exclusively. The less exclusive breastfeeding number is due to the lack of knowledge about the benefits of breastfeeding. Thjis is also because of the promotion of infant formula milk causes many unsuccessful breastfeeding mothers. Objective: To know how to apply counseling by using flipchart media to Mrs. E inmaking decision to select contraceptive in private midwifery clinic of Midwife Hj.Sukarni, ST., S.Kep. at Bonorowo, Kebumen. Method: This study is a descriptive research with case study approach using qualitative data. The data was obtained from primary data and secondary data. Analyzing data was done through three stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Result: After having counseling on LAM contraception by using flipchart media, Mrs.E intended to use the LAM contracetive after giving birth. Conclusions: The use of flipchart media in conducting counseling to Mrs.E on LAM contraceptive was more effective.She made the decision after discussing with her husband.
