Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood, where this phase is prone to conflict. Smoking is a habit that has a considerable destructive effect on human health and adversely affects adolescents. Therefore, efforts are needed to reduce cigarette consumption in adolescence, one of which is the SEFT therapy. Objective: To describe the results of the analysis of family nursing care at the adolescent stage with the problem of nursing care that family health management is not effective when using SEFT therapy. Methods: This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The case study instrument used a nursing care format, SEFT therapy SOP and observation sheets. Data were obtained from interviews, physical examinations and documentation studies. Subjects consisted of 5 teenagers who were active smokers. Results: The results of the assessment on the client found a problem, namely teenagers with active smokers. Priority diagnosis is ineffective family health management. The nursing intervention carried out was the provision of SEFT therapy to reduce the frequency of smoking. The results showed that the five respondents experienced a decrease in smoking frequency by 20% Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to be able to examine the effect of SEFT therapy to reduce smoking frequency in adolescents.
