Abstract
Background: Low Birth Weight (LBW) is a baby born before the 37th week of pregnancy calculated from the first day of the last menstruation, regardless of weight, most babies are born prematurely with a weight <2500 g In Indonesia 30.3% of neonatal deaths caused by low birth weight (LBW). The presence of immature sucking and swallowing reflexes results in poor coordination between sucking and swallowing reflexes, especially with babies born before 34 weeks of gestation. One of the non-pharmacological interventions using Mozart classical music therapy can improve the sucking reflex of LBW babies Objective: To describe nursing care for low birth weight babies by giving Mozart classical music therapy with ineffective breastfeeding problems in the Jasmine Room, RSUD DR. Margono Soekardjo Purwokerto. Methods: this research uses a case study method. The subjects of this study were LBW infants according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results of nursing care: The results of the application carried out on the five patients who experienced ineffective breastfeeding problems and were given nonpharmacological therapy using Mozart classical music therapy for 3 days within 15 minutes and performed once a day showed an effect on increasing the suction reflex with an average of The average balance of incoming fluid is increased by 2 ml.
