Abstract
Background: Head injury is an injury caused by a blow or impact on the head, whether it affects consciousness or not, but affects parts of the head such as the scalp, skull, and brain. Head injury patients are identical with the main complaint of headaches that occur due to damage to brain tissue. Guided imagery and music is a non-pharmacological intervention that can help reduce pain, anxiety, trauma, sadness, stress, negative thoughts in someone. Autogenic relaxation is a deep breathing relaxation technique using imagination guidance to help reduce pain. The two non-pharmacological therapies above are considered to have an effect in reducing pain. General purpose: This study aims to analyze nursing care in head injury patients with acute pain nursing problems. Method: This research was a descriptive research. The study sample was patients with mild head injury cases at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital with five patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instruments used include, emergency assessment forms, NRS pain assessment scales, observation sheets, and standard operating procedures for guided imagery and music therapy and autogenic relaxation. Nursing care results: The results of innovative nursing actions guided imagery and music (GIM) and autogenic relaxation in five mild head injury patients who experienced acute pain showed an influence in decreasing pain intensity, from moderate pain to mild pain. Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference procedure in the application of non-pharmacological therapy to overcome acute pain problems.
