Abstract
Background: Stroke causes limb weakness due to damage to the blood vessels in the brain. This weakness can have an impact on daily activities, and even experience complications such as contractures and atrophy if not given proper action. Mirror therapy is an alternative independent action to increase muscle strength in stroke cases with limb weakness. Objective: The general purpose of writing this scientific paper is to elaborate nursing upbringing with mirror therapy to increase the muscle strength of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients experiencing weakness. Methode: Using a descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects of the case study to be studied are 5 Non Hemorrhagic Stroke patients. The tools in this study are the format of nursing care, Nursing Kit, SOP mirror theraphy, mirror, observation sheet before and after the action. The presentation of the data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which are presented in the method of documenting and resume nursing care. Results: The results of the nursing evaluation in the five patients showed that there was an increase in muscle strength as evidenced by changes in muscle strength between before and after being given therapy for 3 x 24 hours. All five patients experienced a significant increase in muscle strength. Conclusion: The administration of Mirror Therapy in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients can increase the strength of muscles that experience weakness. Recommendation: It is hoped that it can enrich knowledge in independent nursing actions with collaboration to carry out nursing care, especially complementary therapy and can be used as a source of learning or applied in hospitals.
