Abstract

Background: Bronchopneumonia is an inflammation that occurs in the walls of the bronchioles and the surrounding lung tissue. Handling bronchopneumonia with nonpharmacological therapy, namely chest physiotherapy, and red ginger drink. Objectives: Explain Nursing Care In Bronchopneumonia Patients With Nursing Problems and Ineffective Airway Clearance In Aster Rooms of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital. Methods: This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The sample consisted of 5 bronchopneumonia pediatric patients. The case study instrument used the SOP for Chest Physiotherapy and the SOP for Giving Honey Red Ginger Drink and an observation sheet before and after giving chest physiotherapy and red ginger drink. Results: The results of the application were carried out by the five patients, all of whom experienced ineffective airway clearance problems and were given interventions such as pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological techniques. Chest physiotherapy 2x1 morning and night for 3x24 hours with a therapy time of 20 minutes, then drank 120 ml of boiled ginger and mixed 5 ml of honey into 120 ml of red ginger stew. The red ginger concoction is drunk 2x1 in the morning and at night for 3x24 hours. Then observed before and after therapy. After applying 3x24 hours to the five patients, the results showed that there was a decrease in the respiratory rate in each patient, the RR was less than 40 x/minute, reduced rhonchi breath sounds, decreased sputum production, reduced cough, reduced shortness of breath. Recommendation: The results of this study can be applied to patients with complaints of ineffective airway clearance to reduce cough, shortness of breath, additional breath sounds of crackles, sputum production, and respiration to normal by non-pharmacological methods.
