Abstract

Background: Based on Basic Health Research in Indonesia (2018) in 2013 it reached 7.0%, and in 2018 it increased by 10.9%, while in Central Java Province in 2013 it was 6% and in 2018 it increased by 10%. Several forms of mobilization exercise in stroke patients that can be done by nurses, namely listening to music therapy and range of motion (ROM) therapy, in general listening to music in stroke patients can have a positive effect and look cooperative in carrying out rehabilitation programs, while for ROM therapy it can increase muscle strength of the patients. Objective: To analyze nursing care by providing classical music and passive range of motion (ROM) therapies on muscle strength of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients in ICU of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Methods: This study uses a case study method. The subjects are patients with Non- Hemorrhagic Stroke (SNH) in ICU of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong, consisting of 5 (five) people with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The results showed that after 3 days of giving the classical music therapy and passive range of motion in the morning and afternoon, there was an increase of muscle strength, namely 1, both right and left extremities, completed by medicine therapy both injection and oral such as citicolin, amlodipine, candesartan, and nicardipine to accelerate healing and increase muscle strength of the non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Conclusion: There is significant effect of classical music and the passive range of motion therapies on muscle strength of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients in ICU of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Recommendation: The application of classical music and range of motion (ROM) passive therapies are recommended non-pharmacological nursing treatments to increase muscle strength of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients.
